Alan S. Blinder, Wall Street Journal Bush I promised a "kinder, gentler nation" and Bush II expanded Medicare—unfortunately, without a way to pay for it. But with Messrs. Romney and Ryan, it's out with Franklin Roosevelt and in with Ayn Rand.
