Ayn Rand’s name has suddenly been resurrected from the dusty magazine archives of the Twentieth century in conjunction with the announcement of Paul Ryan as the Republican Vice-Presidential candidate. Very few, if any, of the journalists, dropping her name into their articles, were even born when she published her best seller, The Fountainhead in 1943. Some articles reported that the Tea Party, plus Republican candidates Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan were fond of quoting Ayn Rand. In a matter of days, her name was rubber-stamped into many news reports about conservative candidates, without any explanation of the relevance.
