I’d like to see a little more attention paid to Rand’s idea that all of us little country mice out here in corners like Tucson ought to stand up and ask by what right we are expected to sit down and shut up by the Republican Party. Actually, the idea that a small group of people can run everything contradicts Rand’s extreme individualism. It is not for a wealthy man, like a Koch brother for instance, to demand that his employees vote for a certain candidate. When one of us wonders, “Who am I to decide for myself whom to vote for?” you will see the spirit of Ayn Rand chiming in with, “Absolutely! You decide on your personal welfare for yourself.” In fact, she insists on it; that was her philosophy in a nutshell.
