What's up with the Republicans and rape? First, on a tape released by the Atlas Society, Paul Ryan claimed that Ayn Rand makes the moral case for capitalism and that he required his staff to read Rand's books, specifically mentioning "The Fountainhead." In this novel, a character named Roark repeatedly rapes a woman, and this behavior is presented as highly positive. As we know, many conservative Republicans idolize Rand and want to put her ideas into law.
