With all of his arrogance, Paul Ryan states that the writings of Ayn Rand are what have most influenced his life and inspired him to go into politics. Rand believed that people should look out only for themselves and to care about others was a sign of weakness. Rand also thought that it was moral for the wealthy not to pay taxes. Ryan’s budget plan sounds like he is following Rand’s philosophy to the letter.
