SY Valley life prepared him for career, producer says

Harmon Kaslow, a Solvang native and one of the producers of the movie “Atlas Shrugged: Part II,” believes growing up in the “pristine environment” of the Santa Ynez Valley prepared him for success in Hollywood. Kaslow said he left the area with “no fear of the world that existed out of the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley.” Based on the 1957 novel by Ayn Rand, the movie sequel to 2011’s “Atlas Shrugged: Part I,” is scheduled for release Oct. 12.
