,
Atheism  |Atlas Shrugged  |The Fountainhead  |Egoism  |Individualism  |Paul Ryan  |William Hickman  | I am hoping I can get some of my Republican friends to make a resolution that will make things easier for me — namely this: My Dear GOPers, I beseech you, please resolve to let go of your Ayn Rand fetish. Ayn Rand, it seems, has been lurking in the background behind countless Republican candidates over the past few decades and her influence on them has been anything but good.

• • • Ayn Rand Has Influenced Vice-presidential Candidate Paul Ryan’s Philosophy
,
Altruism  |Atheism  |Atlas Shrugged  |Egoism  | Can you imagine if President Barack Obama was a fan of Ms. Rand?  Patient volunteers rescue battered books
,
Atlas Shrugged  | 'The Lord of the Rings" has been battered, and not by the forces of the Dark Angel Sauron. "The Count of Monte Cristo" is under duress not administered by the prosecutor Villefort. John Galt, the protagonist of "Atlas Shrugged," is facing a grim fate unrelated to the compromises of a collectivist economy. Fortunately for fans of Tolkien, Dumas and Ayn Rand, a trio of literary liberators has come to the rescue.

Diamonds not always a bride’s best friend
,
Sandy Chin, 31, said her feminist side would never allow her to have a ring that, as she puts it, "shows you are the possession of someone else, which is disgusting to me." So, instead of a ring, her fiance bought her a first edition copy of “Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand.
