Know your people
Paul Ryan |
Sometimes people in academia spend too much time in the faculty lounge and probably inadvertently get swallowed up in the popular culture. I saw this statement in The Union: “There is something deeply repugnant about an individual who aspires to public service taking Ayn Rand as his role model.” Ayn Rand believed in the individual and free enterprise. Substitute the following names and find out why President Barack Hussein Obama’s latest policies are a total failure. Barack Obama Sr., Frank Marshall Davis, Saul Alinski, Bill Ayers, ACORN, Louis Farrakhan, Father Pfleger and David Axelrod. Shame on you because they will tell you who Barack Hussein Obama really is. I think you will see a drastically different philosophy from that of Ayn Rand.

You don’t like Glenn Beck? Then change the channel!

The preamble to the Constitution describes the purposes of government as being “to establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty [to the people].” But Ayn Rand stated it more succinctly. “Government's job ... is single but crucial: To protect individual rights from violation by force or fraud.”

Let’s give free market capitalism a try

Capitalism |
Our society no longer allows for discrimination based on religion, race, sex, sexual orientation, disability, etc. However, our society openly discriminates against our entrepreneurs (who is John Galt?).
